I qualified from Bristol in June 1984. I met Jeremy at Bristol. He had been in the year above me but joined our year after spending a year completing his Medical Microbiology degree. So we were together for our final two years. Initially we got jobs in separate practices but then worked together in Buckinghamshire and in Portsmouth before coming to Peterborough in 1987.

I had initially gone to Veterinary School with a view to working with horses. Although I have done some equine practice I now concentrate on small animals and just keep horses for pleasure!. My main interests are dermatology (skins),  including allergies, internal medicine and  behaviour.  I am currently based primarily at the branch surgery in Yarwell but do cover for holidays at the Hospital and see skin and behaviour cases at the hospital one day a week.

I joined Youngs Veterinary Partnership in November 1996, as a trainee nurse. Since then I have completed my course at the College of Animal Welfare and am currently waiting for my official nurse registration to be finalised. I have recently been promoted to Head Nurse. I am also in charge of puppy pre-school on a Wednesday evening which is great for meeting puppies and their owners.

At home I am kept busy by my three children, as well as our Siberian husky and two cats, all of which were strays brought into the practice. I also have a corn snake, a royal python, a bearded dragon and a hamster!

I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially cycling and long dog walks with my family and friends. I am also Child Safety Officer for Thorney Rugby Club where my two sons play.

I joined Youngs Veterinary Hospital in April 2011 as an Animal Care Nursing Assistant. After working at the practice for a year, I enrolled as a student at the College of Animal Welfare in September 2012. I am now qualified and have recently completed a management course with the College of Animal Welfare. I am  a Clinical Coach for our trainee Veterinary Nurses.
